This talk will attempt to put Open Hardware into context with the larger policy discussions about openness and the ability of people to control and access items that they own. It will review Open Hardware’s trip to Washington DC and then discuss the unique role that Open Hardware can play in helping people understand the importance of openness, especially for non-technical users.
