Re-wired: Translating the Auditory Experience

Re-wired is is a wearable device that translates ambient sound into haptic feedback using bone conduction technology. The project was inspired by my new experience of sound that combined tympanic hearing and vibrational resonance, when I lost hearing in one ear.

About Amelia Marzec

Amelia Marzec is a Brooklyn-based artist focused on enabling activist communities through innovative uses of technology. She holds an MFA in Design and Technology from Parsons School of Design and was a resident at Eyebeam Art and Technology Center. She is a recipient of the Paul Robeson Cultural Center Award.
